Getting there

Getting to Talari is, by Costa Rican standards, relatively easy!
Talari is set 7km (15mins) from the Interamerican Highway North East of the very Costa
Rican town of San Isidro El General on the road to Rivas and Chirripo.

It is fascinating drive of 3.5 hours from San Jose (the road passes through many levels
tropical vegetation), 45 mins from Dominical (the Pacific Coast) and 3.5 hours from Golfito.

By car: In San Isidro El General, don't expect to see road signs on the Interamerican Highway
to Rivas or even Chirripo, there are very few here - however, look for the turn-off at the
supermarket 'Maxi Bodega' (coming from San Jose, after crossing 2 bridges) or the large
sign 'Centro de Servicio' (before crossing a bridge coming from Panama.) This is the road to Talari and
Chirripo. The road is paved and a 4wd vehicle is not necessary.

By Bus: The bus network throughout Costa Rica is very extensive and reliable. Buses arrive
at San Isidro El General (also locally known as Perez Zeledon) from all over the country.

From San Isidro to Talari, catch the bus to Rivas (leaves San Isidro 05:30, 10:20,
11:00, 12:00, 17:00 and 19:00) from the main bus terminal (which is near the market.) The
20 minute journey costs about 500 Colones (dollars won't be accepted.)

By Taxi: Taxi's will charge about 3000 colones for the 15 minute trip.
